Frequently Asked Questions
When does the next cohort start?
Program participants will begin their studies through SUNY Broome in the spring of 2024.
How many work hours are required during the program?
While enrolled in the CLT Program at SUNY Broome, participants will work 48 hours per pay period in their current positions at UVM Health Network partner sites.
Participants will receive pay for an additional 12 hours per week (24 hours per pay period) to allow time for classwork, lab/clinical instruction and study time.
How does tuition reimbursement work?
Students are responsible for paying all tuition and fees. For graduates who commit to working at their respective UVMHN partner for three years, UVMHN will begin reimbursing tuition costs one year after graduation.
In order to receive full reimbursement of tuition costs, participants must work as a full-time MLT at a partner site within the UVM Health Network for three years upon successful completion of the program.
What if I’m a per diem or part-time employee? Am I eligible?
In order to be eligible, you must be a full-time employee of a partner within the UVM Health Network.
I’ve taken pre-requisites in the past. Do I need to retake those courses?
Possibly. SUNY Broome will review the courses and grades on your transcript to determine whether they meet the requirements for this program.
I’m interested in participating but I haven’t taken the pre-requisites classes? Can I still participate?
Starting in the spring of 2024, the UVM Health Network will offer the option for employees to begin pre-requisite work through the Health Studies Program at SUNY Broome. Individuals who successfully finish these prerequisites can apply to join the MLT Pathway Program cohort in starting in the spring of 2025.
