Summary
Central Vermont Medical Center is seeking a dedicated, experienced and skilled Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our Emergency Medicine team in a 1.0 full-time exempt capacity.
The PA/NP will work in collaboration with board-certified emergency physicians to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced emergency department setting. Responsibilities include evaluating, diagnosing, and treating patients with a wide range of acute illnesses and injuries, performing procedures, interpreting diagnostic tests, and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in high-pressure environments.
Experience
3 to 5 years direct patient care experience required.
2 years clinical practicing PA/NP experience preferred; or 2 years direct care plus completion of an approved post graduate emergency medicine training program.
Ideal candidates will have clinical emergency medicine and/or urgent care experience.
Education
PA: Completion of an Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) approved program (prior to January 2001 – Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs). Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) is required.
NP: Completion of a master's, post-master's, or doctorate from a nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). Current certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or an equivalent body is required.
