Primary Care APP

Responsibilities of the Physician Assistant include providing professional emergency and primary care in a timely and effective manner to patients of all ages who present for treatment in the 6 health centers. Qualifications / Job Requirements:
Education / Skills Required:
• Must be a certified Physician Assistant from an approved NYS program with specific training and/or experience performing general family practice medicine. Must have current ACLS, ATLS, BLS and PALS Certification and fulfill Physician Assistant continuing education and recertification requirements.
• Requires knowledge of family practice medicine, knowledge of medical equipment and instruments pertinent to medical care, knowledge of common safety practices including Universal Precautions, knowledge of age specific health care maintenance needs, requires skills in identifying symptoms of illness and disease processes common to family practice medicine and organizing diagnostic and treatment regimens accordingly, skill in communicating effectively with patients, family, staff, supervising physician and consulting physicians, requires high degree of organizational skill.
