Our mission is supported by our dedicated staff and community volunteers during the last chapter of people’s lives while sustaining dignity, respect and caring relationships. The Volunteer Coordinator will coordinate the Hospice Volunteer Programs of the UVM Health Network Home Health & Hospice and to function as a member of the Hospice Interdisciplinary Team.


Minimum Requirements:


- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, counseling, social work or a human services field OR a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
- Experience with leading volunteers preferred.

- Minimum two to four years of related experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
- Strong supervisory, interpersonal, training and support skills.
- Comfort with public speaking and ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups outside the organization.

Performance Requirements:

• Recruit, train, support and supervise a sufficient number of hospice volunteers of the UVMHN Home Health & Hospice to meet the needs of our clients in Chittenden and Grand Isle Counties and residents of the McClure Miller Respite House
• Participate as a team member on the Hospice Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) and act as a communication link and resource between the IDT and volunteers

- Identify the needs of the hospice volunteer services to clients/families and match volunteers to those needs

- Maintain volunteer related records including recording volunteer services to clients
• Conduct volunteer performance evaluations and meet with volunteers to provide support and feedback
• Serve as program liaison and representative to community, state and national organizations and programs
• Serve on the volunteer committee
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor
