Job Summary (Quality Component):

Responsible for oversight of written policies and procedures to assure compliance with CLIA, College of American Pathologists & applicable state, federal or institutional standards. The QA/QI coordinator facilitates orientation and training of newly hired technologists.  The QA/QI coordinator implements and oversees the competency testing program for phlebotomy and technical personnel and assists with coordination of continuing education activities. The QA/QI coordinator investigates and resolves QA issues. The QA/QI coordinator works in unison with the Laboratory Director and Operations Supervisor to develop QI projects and provides project oversight through completion. The QA/QI coordinator oversees the bi-annual CAP Self Inspection and monitors compliance with CAP standards. The QA/QI coordinator may assist with customer service improvement activities and perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary (POC Component): Responsible for the implementation and oversight of all point-of-care testing performed in-house and all laboratory services performed at physician office practices under Porter Medical Group. Responsible for the successful coordination of the POC Super User Program within applicable physician office practices to meet training and competency assessment requirements for nursing and clinical support staff in POCT.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Associate’s degree with MLT (ASCP), or the equivalent in education and clinical laboratory experience required with 3 years laboratory experience (as CLS II/III or comparable position)

OR

Bachelor’s degree with MLS (ASCP) or the equivalent in education and clinical laboratory experience required with 2 years laboratory experience (as CLS II/III or comparable position).
