Material Handler/Clerk II

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Manager, performs various materials functions that relate to receiving, storage/warehousing, inventory control, issuing, printing, and transporting of material. Operates an automated information management system according to established procedures.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Skills Required:

1. High School diploma or GED.

2. Must be able to receive, inventory, lift, move, and distribute materials in a rapid, accurate, skillful, and safe manner to hospital customers.

3. Must be able to operate equipment provided for the handling, processing, and transportation of material.

4. Must have basic clerical skills to account for the quantity of material or supplies issued or processed.

5. Must have excellent organizational and communication skills.

6. Appropriate New York State driver's license to operate assigned vehicles is required.

7. Prior retail/warehouse experience preferred.

As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.

Work shifts are task dependent, must be available to work any of the following shifts: 6:30am to 3pm; 7 to 3:30pm; 8 to 4:30pm; 9 am to 5:30pm. Must work at least one weekend per month (both Saturday and Sunday).

Bonus is paid in 3 equal installments over one year, must remain in same position, requires 2-year commitment. Current UVMHN employees and those gone less than 1 year are ineligible. Taxable income.
