GENERAL SUMMARY:
Under general supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor, Anatomic Pathology & LIS, assists in surgical and autopsy pathology as required. Secures and prepares tissue for gross dissection and microscopic examination and study. Candidates who are licensed cytotechnologists will perform cytological examinations to the level of their experience. Candidates who are licensed medical technologists will perform moderately complex and complex testing as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's Degree Must meet current New York State Requirements for registration or licensure.
2. Certification as Pathologist’s Assistant by the American Association of Pathologists Assistants preferred.
3. Requires minimum of (1) year training in Anatomic Pathology dissection techniques.
4. Candidates who are qualified Cytotechnologists, Medical Technologists or Histotechnologists will maintain current NYS licensure in those areas.
RELOCATION:
Relocation funds available to eligible candidates moving more than 50 miles.
