JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Executive Assistant serves as the primary administrative support person in the Risk Management and Compliance & Privacy offices of the University of Vermont Health Network. The incumbent will typically support the lawyers who lead the departments as well as staff in each department. The Executive Assistant performs traditional and advanced administrative functions to facilitate the efficient operation of the organization with a high degree of confidentiality.

Education:

Associates degree in business, office management or related field or equivalent combination of experience and education required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Experience:

Five to seven years of progressively responsible office experience in order to have gained the necessary interpersonal skills to work effectively with leadership.

Knowledge/Special Skills:

Must have a discreet, professional demeanor and be reliable, diplomatic, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential material or information in a sensitive manner. Ability to think critically and creatively. Must be a fast learner and have the ability to multitask, as well as handle a multitude of expedited deadlines and projects calmly and efficiently. Must possess competent writing and editing skills, including sound grammar, spelling, and punctuation abilities along with a basic competency in mathematics. In some areas, a familiarity with medical terminology may be necessary. May require some specialized knowledge relevant to the department. Must have excellent computer skills. High-level of competency with Microsoft Windows Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word) is required. Knowledge of OneNote and Stream, as well as virtual platforms (Teams / Skype) is preferred. Advanced keyboarding skills are essential. Must be able to operate standard office equipment such as multiple phone lines, audio-visual equipment, fax machines, and copiers.
