The Deskside Support Technician is responsible for providing technical support to end users across the healthcare system, with a dedicated focus on hardware inventory and IT Asset Management. This includes overseeing the lifecycle of IT assets—from procurement and deployment to decommissioning—ensuring accurate tracking, compliance, and optimization of hardware resources. The technician will also support desktop and mobile devices, telecom equipment, and peripherals, while maintaining a high level of customer service and technical excellence.

Areas of Accountability

The technician is accountable for:

  • Managing and maintaining the organization’s IT asset inventory, ensuring data accuracy and lifecycle tracking.

  • Coordinating asset procurement, deployment, and retirement in alignment with organizational standards.

  • Supporting audits and compliance initiatives related to hardware and software assets.

  • Collaborating with procurement, finance, and IT teams to optimize asset utilization and cost-efficiency.

  • Providing deskside support and troubleshooting for hardware and software issues, including after-hours and on-call coverage as needed.

Knowledge/Special Skills

  • Strong understanding of IT Asset Management principles and tools.

  • Experience with asset tracking systems and inventory control processes.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clinical, business, and administrative staff.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

  • Proficiency in supporting desktop and mobile hardware, software, and network configurations.

  • Excellent documentation and organizational skills.

EDUCATION:

Associate's degree or formal technical training or equivalent experience. Must possess a valid Vermont driver’s license and safe driving record.

EXPERIENCE:
Minimum of 3 year’s IT experience.
